In this project conducted by Dr Manuel Buttini & Dr Pierre Garcia from LCSB, we investigate the potential of MRI to follow neuro-degenerescence in mice models of Parkinson Disease. Changes in T2w signal and in Diffusion parameters are analysed in specific regions of the brain (substancia nigra, striatum) and compared to neuro-pathology and behavioural tests finding. Establishing reliable and reproduceable markers will facilitate the conduct of longitudinal studies while reducing the number of animals required.
This study was made possible thanks to a grant from the J. Think Foundation.
